I received my BFA in Graphic Design from Appalachian State University in 2009. From there, I freelanced for ASU’s on-campus art gallery—and a small design shop in Raleigh—while I honed my skills. In 2011, I kicked off my first full-time design job with a B2B marketing agency called Koroberi. I worked there until 2014 when I moved to Durham, NC and accepted an offer from a design agency called Registered Creative. Registered has been my home for years, but we’re splitting off onto an exciting new venture called HALO 22. I’ll post more news about that soon! Stay tuned. 🙂
Appalachian State University holds a special place in my heart. Twice a year, ASU’s graphic design program offers their graduating seniors the opportunity to connect with designer alumni about the details of the students’ final portfolio. I participate whenever my schedule allows, and the students never fail to amaze me. They approach the review with open minds, are well-versed in the value of thoughtful critique, and have always been incredibly thankful for the feedback. If you’re a graduating design student looking for portfolio feedback, no matter what school you attend, contact me for more information.
